I saw these pics, too somewhere. I recall that there was another pic inbetween showing the same men taking offered cigarettes in a more relaxed atmosphere in relief that their fate could be better. That makes it even more sadistic. The guy taking the pics must have known what was to follow. Soldiers doing such things are pigs of war.

                    Thank you Andersen.

For your convenience translated from the original:

Here's the team, I'm approaching a thousandth post, so in the celebratory spirit I put a couple of interesting comments with the commentaries, as they do in teen magazines as a "photo love story" ... just here is something else.
                    ...
End 2. svj. the war on our territory, the Rijeka Battle, the forces of the 4th Army NOV vs XCIV of the German Corps and many more pile of various axial remains. The place is Sušak, ie its eastern suburbs of Sv. Ana, that is, the hills above it, namely the so-called. home 206, in the people more famous as the "Cross Hill". The date is April 20, 1945.

After the German forces defending this part by taking the Sušak from the NOVJ were cut off from their heads, they were likely to have surrendered after a little thought. The war was lost, home, no motivation to fight anymore. Their positions were firmly established, but the strongest fortifications, built for the Italian occupation, were never completed and did not represent a real guarantee of defense with any chance of success.

Enemy, team is surrendered. Pay attention to the quietness and uninteresting of most teams in the pictures. Yes, soldiers NOVJ are a bit nervous about smoking cigarettes, but there is no bigger tension:

                    http://www.planetuploads.com/home/files/wBJ1kaz2_02.jpg

After that, the picture shows their implementation on the mountain road towards Suša Draga (in the valley is identified a "peril" building on Draškovo Creek, now probably missing from the construction of the road node, which is now in this place). Again there is no tension in the picture. Down in the valley there are barracks, Germans probably assume to take them there. If they have not killed them, maybe they will not ... yeah, right ...

                    http://www.planetuploads.com/home/files/BTEgQPHD_03.jpg

A bit below the site from which the last image was taken is a combat block (by the Naunk bunker) of one of the unfinished Italian fortifications built until the end of 1942: combat positions were avoided, but lacked all equipment and logistics (linkages, electrical installations) and the entire underground section remained only at the excavation level. Additionally, no observation block was built, which, however, probably played a certain role in this story ...

After that, the Germans took them directly down to the barracks, down the ridge. This again makes sense, until the barracks are so straightforward to come, it's a bit steep, but it's faster. Following is a recent shot, a red rounded bunker (note that his right part is very well camouflaged with rocks, almost unrevealed, while the left part remained bare concrete), and the white ridge is essential for the story to continue.

                    http://www.planetuploads.com/home/en...dLvnr_bb1a.JPG

And then they told the Germans to stay, to paint them ... pay attention that the team (twenty or twenty-one man I can not accurately identify ) posing for a photographer, how to smile in the camera ...

                    http://www.planetuploads.com/home/files/fN2LS6S0_04.jpg

And then a machine gun starts ... There is one squad missing here: the Germans were shocked, they did not expect it, there was pain on their faces, as well as surprise and anger ...
Otherwise, on the scale of pictures condemned to death before shooting / hanging (you name it), these people have catatonic face, they are already dead before the death itself ... and these Germans SMIJEZZILI. The peak of the defiance? No, they did not know what was waiting for them. Probably the cameraman was good for dragging the machine guns, probably near the spot of an unfinished observer. First I thought the machine gun was in the bunker, but I checked it on the spot, the ambrosia did not have the proper ignition sector ... Enivej, the next picture depicts the Germans who are all mostly killed, but the NOVJ fighter can see the two survivors as well.

                    And then only this ...

                    http://www.planetuploads.com/home/files/RH60KV5s_06.jpg

Where are the two of them? They are not too far away either ...

                    http://www.planetuploads.com/home/files/qR7867Y_07.jpg The

pictures are usually from the "Positive Negative" exhibition, photos of different sides during the second. the war on our place, they just have the wrong explanations ... besides, there is nothing to do with what is actually going on, about the shooting of war prisoners. So what do you mean, the war is over, what is this meaningless "production of corpses" ...? And then both of them worked, the Partisans shot the prisoners, the Germans shot the hostages ... probably only to fill the quota of the dead ...
