Thought I would revive this older thread and share some of my ETO photos. First up are a couple from a 1st Inf. Div. 16th Inf Rgt. cannon company album. The owner was in Cannon company from torch all the way thru till the end. If I read correctly this unit hit the Beach on D-day sometime in the afternoon.

thanks Bill. I hear you about the hosting site but I don't delete these and only use PB sparingly. I still have images up that I shared 5-7 years ago.

            Glad you like them!

these are scans of negatives from a group of combat medics from the 36th Inf. Div.

              Howdy Mike,

WAF has a way of hicupping and pictures disappear even without Photo bucket.

Nice negatives of the 36 Texas outfit with Combat Medic shots on the move through Germany in 1945. Reminds me of one of my precious finds on my many visits to Luxembourg. a farmer in Bettendorf, Luxembourg gave me a Medic helmet with inner liner that he kept in his barn which I still have today. He also gave me a live MK2 Pineapple grenade still sealed in its waterproof container which I deactivated myself (I was a Combat Engineer in Vietnam) something I know a lot about. Josey told me that he and his brother when they were kids use to go fishing with these grenades. I still have that MK2 with container in my collection.

It's getting harder to find GI photos these days especially combat attributed ones as everyone is looking out for them. Just got a WAF message from a guy in France searching for ETO Albums. I told him I have none for sale at this time.

So true Bill. I hate looking back thru some older postings and seeing photos that have dropped off due to the server changes and updates.

Tell me about it! I stopped perusing TR albums and photographs about 8 years or so ago, that is why I don't post on the WAF to much anymore, and shifted to ETO and PTO US albums. Once and a great while I will get lucky and snag a good album or grouping in my budget. I recently bought a large 13th FA brigade photo grouping that is named and has great shots of German armor. I will have to post a few here.

                all the best Bill, Mike

Mike....I hear you as well. I stopped searching quite some time ago because GI Combat albums were going through the roof. A couple of times I got lucky but it wasn't through Ebay or WAF. I go to Estate sales and acquired some albums from from WW2 Veteran Estates.

As far as I know that Millionaire Canadian and his minions are still out there picking up the best pics of German Armor.

Please do post your 13th FA photos especially the German Armor. Can't get enough of those types of photos.

                  All the best!!!

Yea, god ole sukaduk13. I still have nightmares about that group of fellows.

Most of mine are ebay finds salted with some local pickups. Well anyways I will pump up this thread with some good stuff here in the coming weeks.

Next up and last for tonight are scans from a 5th AD negative grouping I bought. It was being split up on ebay and missed out on a few but still was able to keep the bulk together.

                              Mike,

Fantastic photos and Negatives thanks for sharing them! You are getting me motivated to start my own search once again.

Attaching a photo of the Medic Helmet that a farmer by the name of Josey in Bettendorf, Luxembourg gave me. He had kept it in his barn from the Battle of the Bulge days. I believe the 10th Inf Regt , 5th Division recaptured the village in January 1945 after crossing the Sauer river. Luxembourg was previously liberated in September 1944
