Liske survived the war and was still in the German army in 1963.

              Hi John,

Your car is a 1.3 liter Opel Olympia Cabrio-limousine, Modell 1935-36.

Photo from: "Deutsche Autos 1920-1945" by Werner Oswald.

                Opel Olympia

                Hi Larry,

Thanks for the identification. Obviously Opel named the car in honor of the 1936 Olympics. Was PKW a Wehrmacht nane for the car? That's what I was told the car was.

                Regards,
                John

                  Hi John,

PKW in this case refers to PersonenKraftWagen (passenger car, automobile or motorcar).

                    Pkw

                    Hi Larry,

So PKW is just the abbreviation for the German word for car. Like where we would say 'Oh that's a nice car', the Germans would say something like 'That's a nice PKW'?

                      Using a translator:

                      personenkraftwagen = passenger car.

In your photo the Opel has been requisitioned for use by the military.
So a description would be something like this:

An Opel Olympia PKW (passenger car) in use by a Heer unit.

The term PKW also describes any military vehicle (not including trucks) that was designed to carry passengers, kubelwagens for example.

Hope this explains it for you.

Thanks for the explanation. It clears everything up for me.
