    Mark,

What time period is the 71st (29 Id) photo album from? Im just curious as I am working on organizing, researching and restoring a entire archive of photos from a PK in the 29 Id. It covers a month before Barbarossa until the beginning of 43. It would be nice to compare photo albums sometime to see if there are photos of the same areas and things, places, etc.

Here are a few sample pics from the collection.

    Regards,

    Thomas

There were other photos of Guderian in the lot and I assumed that this was also him!

Two more - and some help with the reverse inscription!

First is a 75 mm Art. I can read the date which says February 20, 1942. Can anyone tell me the location?

                            Mark,

On your Arty photo, you might (very carefully) to remove as much as the black backing pulled off from the album that obscures the first part of the place location. There are litterally thousands of different little russian villages and cities and sometimes multiple villages with the exact same names within one area of Russia. Also a guess or other information as to which unit this was or at least which army group would be helpful. If you can find the first parts of the location, I can probably help you find the place.

                            Regards,

                            Thomas
