What was Bezirk II, and what did RADwJ mean? I know that a male member of the RAD would do physical labor and such. What did a female member of the RAD do?
like the "Arbeitsgaue" of RAD Männer, there was also a structure for women, 34 "Bezirke" = "Gaue". Bezirk II was the district between Ostpreußen and Mecklenburg, Bezirk XXXIV was the last Bezirk 1945 in Austria.
Important Work from 1933 to 1941: "Bauernhilfe", direct help for farmers, 1 girl for 1 farmer.
1941 - 1945: Kriegshilfsdienst - work in armor production, schools, governement, hospitals.
1943 - 1945: Luftnachrichten-Einsatz, airborne surveillance systems.
1944 - 1945: Flak and searchlights.
Greetings
Michael

Pommern?
Originally posted by Michael Jonas View PostHi STuGIII,
this is a member of "Bezirk II" RADwJ „Pommern“, later „Pommern-West“.
Greetings Michael
Hi Michael,
Was Pommern the name of a town within Bezirk II, that this girl was assigned to? Is there anyway to tell by the way she's dressed, what she did within the RADwJ?
John
