Regarding Photo #76, I was amazed to see her wearing a black wound badge. I was unaware that the women auxiliaries could be awarded what I consider to be a combat badge. It is the first women I've seen wearing such an award.

Interesting too that the wound badge in pic #76 appears to be a cut-out version which is very scarce within itself.
Or it could be a First World War wound badge which maybe belonged to her father?

        Bruce, Brett,

The wound badge was given to all eligible members of the Armed forces and Police. In 1943 all civilians wounded/killed by enemy air raids were also eligible as I understand it. Still you don't see many pics of female aux wearing it.Now I would get real excited to have a pic of a female aux wearing the EK I or EKII which several members were awarded.

Photo 71 shows a Naval Aux. I think they were part of the navies air warning service.

I don't know that much about the air spotters badge. Didn't realize wartime pics of it in wear were so uncommon.

I would like to know the date on the photo. We are always arguing early to late issue badges but I can't think of how she would have recieved one of these early in the war to get the 1936/9 version unless that just happened to be what was sitting on the shelf in the supply room when she was awarded it.
