These two sets of signs are so "amusing" and famous in Wolchow... Does anyone have "use the road with care like your new bride" sign? I've been trying to get it but in vain... Pity.

Units erected memorial signpole with city names it had something to do with... Clearly not a local roadsign because you see many distant names.

        Here's one from 22.Infanterie-Division.

                  Hello Akira,

                  Is this the photo?

                  Cheers,

Yes exactly! Thank you for showing... For a very long time I have been wishing to get a color picture of it... It MUST exist somewhere...

And there is an accompanying sign, "those who neglects the warning will not be able to get delousing service!" Don't you happen to have that one too?

The "bride" signpost was erected in Schapki in Wolchow. The map is shown below.

                          Hi Akira,

I don't have any more signs photos from that area.

I have two albums, one belonging to 20 Inf Division and the other 96 Inf Division which almost exclusively have Wolchow content.

I can see why the area was known as "The Arse of the World". Such an inhospitable place.

I do have a photo with a named railway station but the writing is in Russian.

                          Cheers,

                          Larry
