    Type one:

This airmail variety is familiar to collectors and depicts a good old Ju 52 "Tante Ju" transport aircraft. Soldiers used them to airmail letters home.

Note that the perforations on the cancelled stamps are of the "rouletted" version (intertwined teeth rather than little holes).

      This one designation is "MQ1"

It was the basic parcel stamp for the German soldier. Good for up to a 250 gram (about 1/2 lb) parcel.

        This is a "MQ3".

It was issued to Germans in 1944 to send a small Christmas package to a soldier at the front. Allowance: 1000 grams (about 1.1 lb).

These are scarcer than the brown MQ1's, above, and accordingly command higher catalog values.

They are very rare in a used condition on an original package.

Here is a partial sheet of them.

Note again the plate number on the margin.

Finally, we come to the Hitler overprints.

These were given to Germans to send parcels to soldiers fighting in the East. They allowed up to 2 Kg (about 2.2 lb).

These are so rare used that one on an original package catalogs for more than $9000.

              stamps

              Hello Flak

I have some stamps in my collection.
Do you know if stamps where faked?
IMO I don't think I have ever seen fake stamps. but I could be wrong.
              I posted some stamps tomorrow.

              Greetings
              Nick

                Dear Ralph,

I also have a stamp collection, actually that WAS what I collected before I got into militaria. But I still have them. And will keep them until I am really old and then pick up on that hobby again.
You bring back sweet memories, I have to get these out of the treasure chest!

It is a great addiction too!

@nick: oh, there sure are fakes there as well! Practically all the very rare stamps have been faked.

                Cheers, Frank H.
                Cheers, Frank
