He was a local vet who has passed away now. I never could get the tunic from him, and don't remember ever seeing the hat, and don't know what ever happened to his stuff.

This appears to be a war booty picture of the Vet posing with Luft. tunic, sword, etc. Note the collar tab placed on visor and scabbard tucked behind belt.
