Just when I thought it was possible Dietrich did sign in sutterlin script ,Adem posted his examples.I see enough differences in the signature that cannot be explained away, considering there supposedly done in the 40/41 time frame and his style should have remained consistant.Max's (Welcome) posts carry alot of compelling info.Being a ex-police officer he would have access (I believe )to forensic hand writing experts.Cheers Steve

There had been a lot of isolated communities before the Internet. It is no wonder if one good researcher does not know another good one in another community. Especially between the Continent and the islands, or over the pond.

From what I have read, both parties have stated what they believe, and it is time to find more facts with efforts, if one wants to continue.

I understand that Max has been in this area for long, and has studied a lot. I hate to say but your mistake was to have quoted anonymous assessment. Such are called "zero added value" comments here. Without that, your comment would not have been challenged with sarcasm.

I can believe that you have read a lot of original documents and have never seen a Sütterin Dietrich signature. That was really a valuable comments because it is your real experience. Thank you for sharing it.

On the other hands, Marc, Pieter and Luc have been pretty long known to me and I appreciate their experience highly. I can believe their statement, too.

It is not so easy to prove that something did not exist. Of course, a single proof of existence may not be enough because proofs can be forged. It would be an interesting endeavor if one can find a few Sütterin signatures of Dietrich's in original documents in different archives, re-examinable by anyone using film number, etc.

At this point, comments from who have not done his homework are not so welcome.

Thanks for the intro max, much appreciated. Impressive credentials!

Discussions like this one are exactly the reason I don't even consider SS stuff...way out of my league in price and knowledge.

          Dietrich signature on Wisch doc

I must admit that I did not read the thread in detail yet since I am always lacking time, but I would like to make only one statement:

The Wisch Wound doc signed in Suetterlin by S. Dietrich came directly from Wisch's estate and was sold by one of his sons. Absolutely no fake there.

          Saludos desde Mexico

Markus, this is what I was told about it. But in my case it is just a hearsay and I can't confirm anything (so no posting about it). I know you're very serious about these, Markus. Have you had a chance to communicate directly with the son?

No, I never comunicated with the family, mostly because I think that they probably would not want to. In recent months I was thinking about it. It's worth a try.

                          Otto Heck

"Otto Heck" was actually wounded at Klidipass in Greece as a member of the 1st/LAH. (according to the Company Chronicle)
