    LAH Document

    Dear All,

I have a question about the stamp, did they use this stamp still in 1941?

    Best regards,

    Rene

Why such a departure from his prewar and wartime signature? Did he use sutterlin script occasionally? Cheers Steve

Like most Germans I presume he could indeed write in SĂ¼tterlin , There is no logic in his handwriting during the war or even prewar ..

here an ex. that match a bit rene's document dated okt. 1940 :

These documents show he used that script style in the 1940/41 time frame. Are there any earlier or later examples?Cheers Steve

The EK2 document and the Black Wound Badge document are both forgeries.

                              Hi Max,

                              What makes it a fake?
Because in Vol. 1 of Forman's Guide to the Third Reich German Documents, it has a couple of illustrations of award documents awarded to LAH members and signed by SS-Obergruppenfuhrer Sepp Dietrich. The LAH SS EK2 award doc (listed on page 111) has the LAH 'Verfugungstruppen' seal, is dated Dec. 1941 and is very similar to the doc. in question.
On page 192, a War Merit 2nd class with swords document that was awarded in Oct. 1941 to another LAH member has the same unit seal and has a similar Dietrich signature.

However, Detlev just sold a EK2 LAH doc. dated Dec. 1941 but has a different signature?
