Yep....Just what I thought....an early DAK German POW as they were allowed to have the birds on their uniforms. Later they had to remove them and as the war progressed towards the end their uniforms disappeared to be replaced with dyed POW marked U.S. military clothing. There were exceptions under the Canadians and sometimes the French.

Another diamond i got in this days,...FEßMANN, Fritz portrait picture with original signature! Great clear shot of the Ritterkreuz! He was a RK and oakleaves with swords recepient. Picture is i guess from 1941-42 prior receiving the OL so i guess also the signature is from that period.
