                              Hi,

Wow that has to be a rare image. An American in the German army. Any idea what happened to him?

He was injured by a gunshot while serving with 76 Infantry Division early in 1944 which saw him being repatriated back to Germany. He didn't fully recover before the end of the war so wasn't returned to combat but was instead assigned to the Dolmetscher-Komp. des WK III as an interpretor, so the chances are that he survived the war. The last date that I can find in his paperwork (soldbuch and various other pieces of paperwork) is for a period of leave from the 8th to the 23rd April 1945.
