If I may? He is wearing it but as a ribbon bar together with a flower war October 1'st on the right.

      EKII Ribbon

      Hi Frank,

So a soldier could wear it as a ribbon around his second button or on a ribbon bar, is that correct? What is a 'flower war October 1'?

Correct, but regulations stated they were not to be worn together. This was often ignored.

I guess the wearing of any medal really is optional, which is why you will often see EK1s and no EK2 ribbon.

The October 1st medal is for those who participated in the occupation of the Sudentenland.

Called the flower war due to the flowers the civilians would bring the German soldiers.

          EKII Ribbon

          Hi Chris,

Thanks for the information. You're right, you do see them wearing an EK I without an EK II ribbon a lot.

Here is an interesting portrait of a ELT RKT...this one is on a large glass negative and not the printed photo

Here is a photo of a group of Kriegsberichter der Luftwaffe as evidence by their cufftitles. The Uffz with the camera appears to be wearing a cloth Air Gunner/Flight Engineer Badge
