could you please give somme more Information about the new book? Is it available from Otto Carius directly? Does it contain new information or is it a translation of "Tiger im Schlamm" into english only?

Have a look for Feist Books ( http://www.feistbooks.com/ ). It was published last year to his 90th birthday, just in english but lots of photos. The standard version is sold out, there is just a rest of the limited edition. But it is not cheap
As far as I know Mr. Carius doesn´t sell them.

Indeed $85 is too much. And if they are established in USA it means a big amount for shipping to Europe, plus the shipping to Herr Carius and back......... well it must be a 120-130 euros project

AFAIK, yes, he's still alive.

To concur with Julio, Herr Euling is still alive, but know that he has been in hospital for a hip replacement very, very recently. Would not expect any quick responses if you have sent him any letters.
