    Brian makes a good point.
    Pl. compared to the same area of a genuine, un-opened up goblet. Take note the red arrow which shows additional soldering material(?) which does not exist on the un-opened goblet.

      Thanks for all the input everyone, one final question though. Assuming it is a reengraved original how would that affect the value of the piece? I mean is it only worth the value of the silver or does it still have some collectors merit?

          The pokal is original, no doubt.
          If the repair as well as re-engraved were done by Henrich or his family, say due to the damaged done during the war or even after the war, then to me I guess it is still a collectable item. But it is hard to prove . Personally I doubt it is the case here. It is all because of
          that strange hallmark. It now looks like a faker , instead of Henrich, stamps there to enhance the value. The same faker may be the same one who creates this pokal by opens up a lesser known goblet, then put a new engraved name band on it. If this is the case here, the value will be very very less.

            One further point:
            Here you can see a 21.7.41 pokal which is app. one month after your 2.6.41 pokal.
            Compare the 835 stamp. I doubt one month apart will make such difference.
            Furthermore, the genuine one has a square circular ring ( red marking) under the name band. Your does not have such.

              You ask a tough question Anthony. Personally I agree with Chen. As someone who has purchased goblets in the past, this is not one I would want. These items are too expensive (at least on my budget!) to be sitting in my collection surrounded by doubts. Part of the attraction for me is that goblets are one of the very few awards we can say with any certainty belonged to a specific person (because they are named). If this fundamental is in doubt, a lot of the attraction evaporates (for me at least).

                  From what I know, engravong was done before asambling of Pokal, so I dont believe in this " orginal " unengraved pieces.

                      Maybe this input also helps.

                      Heinrich Setz received the KC on the 31st of December 1941 and the Oaks on the 23th of June 1942, both in the rank of Oberleutnant. He was promoted to Hauptmann after his 100th kill on July 24th 1942.....

                      ....So receiving the Honor Goblet on the 21th of June 1941 in the rank of Hauptmann is impossible.

                      @Anthony, yes like Tim said, try to get your money back. I don't say this goblet isn't worth more than its weight in Silver, but the value is in my eyes way way below any good 835. Which probably makes your "steal" pretty expensive.
