      Hi Anthony,

If you're getting a camera which will also take decent badge images, make sure it has a decent macro option. Even better, get one that can handle a screw-on or bayonet adapter for a decent macro lense. I use an older Canon PowerShot G3 which takes care of my requirements - blurry pictures and bad lighting can all be blamed on me!

That is clear enough now to say for sure that this Focke Wulf badge is bad!

                Anthoney,

Frank is just having a little fun with you. Focke Wulf was an aircraft manufacturer and famous for the FW 190.
I concur that the badge is a fake.

That Focke Wulf was just a joke. This badge actually does not conform to ANY other known originals in many ways: catch is definitely of post-war manufacture, the way the edges of the reverse are raised is also not the way any Third Reich badge looks.

Here's a typical 'TR' era produced badge which will give you some idea as to manufacturing/construction methods..

Searching through the forums archives, downloading and doing side by side comparisons of badges you may own against known originals is good way to acquaint yourself with the various maker's differences and help in determining originality.

                          Hi Anthony,

New guy or not, you just found the coolest nickname for good old John!

FW is not a real maker name, these initials stand for nothing reasonable as far as Third Reich war badge makers go. It could as well be HS for Homer Simpson.
                          Cheers, Frank

Sorry for the Focke Wulf, I just was in that mood and thought you would catch my drift.

Weidmann may have made war badges but if he did, he never marked his badges. We do not know of any known mark of Weidmann on German war badges. But that badge you have certainly is not a rare "Weidmann badge"! Trust me on that.
                              Cheers, Frank

i completely agree with you on it i was just wondering if he ever did cause he was the only 1 i could find with fw as the initials, so it was worth a shot, i still think my Profiency badge is real though
