      Hi Anthony,

Yes, PLEASE take better photos, or find someone with a flatbed scanner! It's way too blurry to make anything out. Looks like a ball-hinge? Is the mark raised or stamped. A good pic of the obverse will be very useful as well to have a chance at comparing to other known makers.

Evaluate the item, not the story and not the seller's reputation!

If you PM/contact me without the courtesy of using your first name, please don't be offended if I politely ignore you!

Hi. Definitely looks like a ball-hinge with an "FW" mark. Neither of these characteristics are known to me on an authentic badge.

This badge DEMANDS better pictures to be sure .....

.........but it is probably a fake.

are ball hinges repros? and the markings are stamped in to the badge, not raised

The only two Lufwaffe badges where ball hinges are genuine are particular Flak and Glider Pilot Badges.

We really DO need to see better images of this badge. But I really don't like the catch already.

The DSC-F717 is 5.0 megapixel. Although you really don't need the extra megapixels for the forum, the Zeiss lens of the 717 makes it awesome. As most everyone does, I take the original photo at highest resolution, trim it to 1280 and post. It makes a big difference when you trim using the higher resolution to start with. The Sony DSC-F828 is even better, 8.0 megapixel: http://www.usaphotonation.com/produc...oduct_id=10374

I take most of my pics with a 1 Megapixel digital Sony Handycam. The pics are more than clear enough. You just have to be steady at the hand the instant you snap the pic or she goes blurry.

                            Exactly, Darrell.

A tripod works wonders, with a remote control. And also, if you have one of the higher dot pitch monitors (screens) you will see the FULL benefit of imaging with a nicer lens. My wife has a new Sony screen and the photos look so real, it's uncanny. I love the Sony quality. But if you have a middle of the road screen, you'll see just that level of quality. Hence, the camera can only be appreciated at it's fullest when using a top line screen. And why should we scrimp when photos are everything?

Your guess is right. It's a fake.
