When you put the link I checked the site.

That guy has a great site...for example look at all the EK1's he has..and the prices seem quite reasonable compared to some of the other European sites.

        Greetings,

That really is a great looking Pilot badge, I first noticed it almost a year ago. I have never had an issue when dealing with Clause, but others have, had communication issues. He hasn't been doing as much Luftwaffe as he has in the past, I would say most of his pieces are good to very good.

        Cheers,
        Joe

          Hi Joe

Yes it is from Clause site. As you have stated all the other items that I have brought from Clause have bben tops. I have never had a problem with dealing with Clause, very professional, that is why I like to stick with him, good business.

Joe what is your opinion on the catch has it been replaced.

          Regards.

            Greetings,

The catch looks O.K. to me, BUT, I would really like to hold the piece in my hand before I would say that it is virgin to the badge.

            Cheers,
            Joe

              Hello

Here is a picture of two mid to late war Assmann luft badges. They both
have the hindge/pin setup one normally finds on these awards. I still
contend that the setup on the badge in question is a replacement. There appears to be an outline where the original hindge was located. As to
the catch? It does not look to be disturbed. As if it is the original. Assmann
generally used flat wire for the catches, however.

Does the seller state that the hindge & pin are replaced?

As with all sites he has some fakes - beware with ALL dealers and do your homework!

                  Greetings,

I think Ken's thoughts are what I was thinking when I first saw this piece on his site and passed on it. I still like the piece and the condition as far as finish looks very good, but that pic of the catch is a bit muddy and in the past we have seen on more than one occasion how decieving pics can be. I am not suggesting that Clause is trying to decieve anyone, just making a point about the photo of the hinge. I know from watching his site that he has taken great strides in improving his photo quality, sometimes it just taks time for some to get it down.

I also never had to return anything, so I am not sure how that works, but his wife Doreen is very helpful. I think Clause tries very hard and has some very nice pieces, but like Marc has suggested know what you are buying. I think that can be said for any dealer, what makes a the difference with dealers is the %s as well as their return policy.

                  Cheers,
                  Joe

                    Joe,
You are spot-on. He does have great stuff. Just as an FYI here is one of his that is under discussion:

                      Guys

Thans for all the information. Any item I buy from any dealer I now post on the forum for all to give there opinions on.

I will take into fact what you have told me about the Assman badge, and I think that I will stay away from it. If I buy a pilots badge I want it to be all good and have nothing wrong with it as they are an awsome award.

I have not had any problems with this site to date Clauss has been very good and as stated his wife Doreen is also very helpful.

Now and forever more in the future any item that I buy has to be given the thumbs up buy the forum before I will even consider buying the item.

                        Hi Nelly,

Good decision to stay away... The case is a late war beauty but the badge definitely has a replaced or at least repaired hinge assembly.

                        Best regards,
                        Albert
