Assmann PO double marked "A" and "L/64"

Hi friends, please take a look over this Assmann PO.
In my opinion it is an original (in all parts) 3rd pattern Assmann PO in zinc double marked with A and L/64.
    Sadly it is repaired
What's your opinion? Are there any doubts that this one is no original?

    Thank you very much, Michael

Hi, looks like an original Assmann pilot, just not sure if it has always been a PO or it started its life as a pilot!?

      Hi Michael,

I like it. No doubt an original Assmann badge, and textbook later war Assmann hardware. I also like the look of the gold and silver finish, correct for Assmann IMO.

It looks pristine, never been worn so its a little odd that it would have just fallen apart like this and require repair. I wonder if these were leftover parts that were found in the factory and put together after the war??

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

        Hi Lubo, hi Tom,

thank you very much for your input. I also don't have any doubts about the goldfinish of the wreath.
This badge was found from the family of the vet, who served at the Luftwaffe.
Sadly I don't have more info and so I can't say if this were leftover parts or the awarded badge of this soldier which was repaired after war.

Wonderful find Michael! The coloring sure looks correct to me.......if only it could talk.

              Hi Michael,

Take a close look at it (I assume you have it in hand)...

Looks like gold paint on the pin, can you confirm that?

If so, that would be a bad sign IMO. Retouched P/O at best.

Hi Tim, you sure about that??

Paint on the pin would be quite consistent with late war Assmann badges, whether they be Pilot, P/Os or Paras, IMO. Here are just a few quick shots of some regular Pilot badges, all have the finish on the pin.

I had two of these late war zink Assmann PO's, and both pins were also finished gold. The paint is textbook Assmann. I'm 100% positive next to the glueing this PO is 100% PO.

Yeah, but Tim has a different girl in every city...so that is a lot of plusses...

Wait, did I spell that right?

I just returned from the model store with some Testors paint bottles.
                          Shhhhhh.....

Tim I would expect nothing less than "virginia's" and testors from an old rocker...but that's why I like you!

But, then.... How can you be sure the glue isn't wartime (kidding...)... It might be yet another plussie.

I showed this badge to my leeeedle friend, his expression says it all.
