    Meybauer Para

Read with interest the threads in the para section discussing the Meybauer badge. I have tried to compare one I have had for many years and think it is the same as the one Frank believes is good. I can not get a scan of the mm but it is the full P. Meybauer Berlin mark and looks exactly like the mark on Eikops badge as shown in Franks comparison. Not sure what the link is to it.
Frank (and any others) can you give this badge a look and express your opinions re it. Thanks.

      Dear Bob,

Yes, that is a nice Meybauer. Most of these are marked just PM.
      Cheers, Frank

        Hello Bob,

Your badge is original without a doubt in my opinion. I never bought into the theory that the eagle must have three talons showing in order for the badge to be original. If you ask me, I think alot of the the ones with the large P.M. markings look fishy. Here is a Meybauer Paratrooper Badge that I have had in my collection since 1979. It has always been my favorite.
        Best regards! Tom Yanacek

              Dear Tom,

On hand hand you help to eradicate a silly collectorĀ“s myth ("all para badges with two claws are fakes", "there is no Meybauer para badge"), on the other one you help to start a new one:
If you ask me, I think alot of the the ones with the large P.M. markings look fishy.
This sounds as if you want to promote the opinion that only fully spelled out examples can be trusted.

I will show you three PM marked para badges and you tell me what is fishy about them.

There is a FAKE you probably refer to, it comes with PM markings AND with fully spelled out Meybauer logo. The fake is made of a modern Buntmetall.
              Cheers, Frank

TWO fake badges with PM marking (Detlev has acknowledged this mistake):

FAKE with fully spelled out Meybauer logo. Note that this fake and the lower fake in DetlevĀ“s comparison have a (fake) wreath of actual Meybauer design. All three fakes share the same bogus eagle though.
