Hello Frank,
Thank you for your comments and the nice pictures you posted. I was in no way trying to say that all 'PM' marked badges are fake, only many of them. The first three badges that you pictured are of course genuine. I was referring to the massive flood of Buntmetall 'PM' marked Paratrooper Badges, that have the long, Juncker-type barrel hinge and the three claw nails showing on the Hakenkreuz. I never liked these badges from the day they surfaced in the collector's market. So many people think they are genuine though. I do not. These badges flooded the market, as well as the fake 'PM' marked Observer Badges. They are well made, but still garbage in my opinion. I tried to start a thread on these badges a few years ago, but no one seemed to want to respond. Several weeks ago, I saw that Detlev had the 'PM' marked Para Badge as his repro of the week feature. I couldn't believe when I saw two fakes shown, and one of those fakes was said to be original. I'm glad that that has been cleared up. The fake with the 'P.MEYBAUER BERLIN' marking is around I know, but I do not seem to encounter it nearly as often as those 'PM' ones.
Best regards! Tom Yanacek
