Looks good to me to. The second Jmme with a J2 that I have ever seen. The other one I have. Note how Romans also has the Juncker wreath with eternity sign. Mine is a totally different design.

Not quite what I consider to be "Textbook" for this maker. Although this one is hard to nail down.

I prefer to see brass in the hinge and different rivets. Also a different finish. One other thing that bothers me is the "soft" appreance.

I would call it the "undetailed" finish . Strange that it has this look for the eagles as well as the wreath.

Also when looking from the front, does the swaz arm on the left & low right look very thin??

From the pics I'm not convinced in the first place..

For me it's no longer working only with a front and back pic..., more info is needed..

If it is a Jmme badge I like to see the brass hinge too.. , as Tim says..

At the back it looks all very smooth , the wreath itself looks concave like the Assmann wreathes..., best shown at 4 o'clock position..

Some close -ups would do fine and some side shots to see if it's cast or not.., a look between the feathertips and swas...

Pics can trick the eye , so ,better see some more pics of this one..

Todays castings will give a very good result and all features are there , even infinity mark , makermark etc.., the quality , that's the point..

So ,thorough investigation is a must when there's hesitation ..

                Jos.

                  Hello gentlemen,

I see more that I like than I don't, BUT, the pics do not show the detail that is needed to give some good straight forward opinions.

I like the wear on the piece, true the details are soft, most of that is do to the pics.

@ Tim C. , Agreed , with maker I am also not sure what would be considered textbook.

                  Best,
                  Joe

Hmmm, some good points. But Jmme and textbook is surely a contradiction in terms. They seemed to change parts, hinges and maker marks constantly.
True, I also like to see the brassy hinge, but interchangable hardware is nothing to go on as to ascertain originality, or so I have learned here.
Soft looking, also true, but once again the pics are slightly blurred and use and wear will also give it a soft look. Like Jos I would like to see some side shots of the eagle and Swaz to see if there are signs of the stamping.

At the moment I would still hang to more good than bad.
                    Damm Jmmes are so difficult.

I always considered this style with the brass hinge, pinched rivets, silver eagle and the square "M's" as a "textbook" JMME pilot badge. This does have the Juncker 'J2' style wreath and eagle.

Tims is the "classic" Jmme (very crisp photo Tim), but as I said above Jmme semed to have a vast amount of changes in its production.
I would still like to see some side shots of the Swaz and some pics taken with a camera though.
