    Hello gents,

I would´nt make any thoughts about badges of Gnubbel_5 ....

A faker and forger for many years with a reactivated account now. What has he done and where has he been the last three years ......? What was his name? I´m sure he´s never been away.

I would´nt buy a war merit cross 2nd class from him without any doubts ...

So be sure that a l l the badges are n o t original - don´t come in trouble with Deumer or Juncker because it´s a fake for sure in any way!

That is high quality Staegemeir stuff.

    Best Regards

I guess in the earlier years of the hobby the presence of a maker mark would have enhanced a badge's value. These days with many unmarked badges being attrubuted to a maker, or even unattributed but known to be original doesn't really make them worth less than one with a maker mark. I would think that this practice of putting a phony mark on a real but unmarked badge would not be of any benefit and adversly affect the price.
      Just my opinion.

        Hi Frank,

I completely agree with your last post, but there are still a lot of guys out there that don't follow the forums as much as we do and therefore are still of the old mindset of "marked = better". I would bet that is why this idiot marked this badge with a CEJ mark rather than a Deumer mark. He thinks its a Juncker badge, but most of the guys that follow the forums like us know that it really is an early Deumer badge.

If he was smart and followed the forums, he would have stuck a Deumer mark on there. That would REALLY catch alot of attention, because I cannot think of one early, thin wreath Deumer Observer that has ever been found marked. Guys would be climbing all over eachother to buy it if it were the real deal.

I seriously doubt the badge in question is a Staegemeir fake. He indeed makes good fakes, but I haven't seen him come to this level on his fake Observer badges..........yet.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

I agree with Tommy and Ricardo, looks to be a real badge, although not in great shape, with a fake mark to enhance value. Still would want to see it in person to make a final decision, but even if a good one, I'd pass on it personally.
