Hi guys,
Wanted to show a very well made Juncker reproduction that has been around for a few years now. Very well done and from the obverse it appears to be a perfectly textbook Juncker, I cannot find a single fault with it. The reverse is also pretty well done; the hinge, rivets and finish all look about right. The file marks in between the wings and tail are also a good sign often found on originals.
However, you will notice that the catch doesn't seem correct for an original Juncker and is the first red flag. The edges also seem to be a bit soft, but even with these clues the badge looks very convincing.
Its only when you sit this one next to an original does it become clear this is a cast reproduction. It is a good bit smaller than original Juncker Para badges. As I was researching for the Para book, I came across a few other Juncker badges exactly like this one. I wasn't 100% convinced they were fake, but had enough doubts to stick them in a separate "questionable" folder.
