    Frontflugspange, good or bad ?

    Dear collectorfriends

Picked up this frontfliegspange with hanger to day. I´ve got it with seven days inspection and for me it looks fine. But I have only seen maybe 5 of them before. Please help me with your oppinion. Its marked CE JUNKER, BERLIN SW.

    Hi Gusten,

well IMO its a repro. Especially if the marking is "Junker" and not "Juncker" it is a bad one. I don´t do the FFSp myself but I seem to recall that Juncker ones should be marked in the middle of the circle and not, like yours on the oakleaves. Maybe one of the FFSp collectors could enlighten us more.

        Hi Gusten,

I'm afraid the author of that site just made the same mistake 3 times over.

It's something you will see happening quite often because as far as I know using the letter combination "CK" in a word is quit uncommon in the German language.

This often made mistake (even by Germans) has mainly two reasons:

          1) 99% of the LW awards collectors are also interested in WWII aeroplanes and there is the well known company JUNKERS who made the Stuka, JU-52, JU-88 etc, etc.

          2) Then there is the German word JUNKER, which has a similar meaning as "knight" originally, but is also used in military terms, e.g. "Fahnenjunker", "Junkerschule" etc.

Some people mix these things up in their head, even more difficult because JUNKERS, JUNKER and JUNCKER are all WWII German military related somehow. It is good that one of these people was a faker!
