    Opinions on the zink Pilot

Is it possible to identify the maker of the badge? Any opinions about hinge and pin are also welcome

Unknown maker, attributed to FFL, I believe. The hinge seems to have been repaired, the pin may not be original to the badge.

Yep, FLL it is. The hinge is NOT repaired in my opinion, you can still see the silver finish on top of the solder. Pin also looks period and not a replacement IMO.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

I'll try to make more detailed photos of hinge, pin & hook...

I agree Tom , Hinge, catch and pin all look original to this badge. I find these the easiest pilots badges to be certain with. Not by far the most desirable, but the easiest.

                    Thomas/Dion I learned something here
I was looking at the hinge sleeve the pin is soldered to. It seemed like it was almost not there, when most of the ones I have seen were the same size or at least close to the hinge sleeves/barrels. After a search of the forum, I found several more of different diameters. This one is very small, but of course like you mentioned absolutely correct.
