A perfectly fine SW68 marking - textbook. Juncker stamped their third pattern Tombak flaks with this marking so no problem.

Agree..there is nothing wrong with the SW68 marking...HOWEVER, it is on a Second Pattern (J2) not a Third Pattern (J3).
Interagative...has anyone seen an SW68 marking on a J2 Pilot Badge? I have ONLY seen this marking on J3 Pilot Badges.Comment

Larry, we are all obviously thinking the same thing, that it is odd that the SW68 logo is on a J2, however that doesn't automatically make this a reproduction, does it? It is an oddity, but that cannot be the only reason we have to totally dismiss this pilot badge, is it? I doubt there is anyone that can confidently say "the SW68 logo was NEVER applied to a J2 pilot badge". How can any of us be so sure of that?
Lets ask another question, when did Juncker start using the SW68 logo?

Disregarding the maker mark, can you fault this badge on anything else? Hardware, rivets, die characteristics, finish, etc.

Jos,
Two questions for you---
1) Is the double stamp you posted a J2 or J3.
2) Which stamp appears to be the original/first stamp on the badge?
It would make more sense to me if the IMME stamp was the original and the SW68 was the overstamp for IMME had J2 style badges. Maybe Junker overstamped these J2 IMME badges later in the war.

Yeah, I agree with this line of thought too. Since I've yet to see a zinc JMME or IMME pilot, it might be possible that they went out of business and sent some leftover stock back to their buddies Juncker, who had by then switched over to the SW 68 stamp.Originally posted by Lorenzo Brown View Post

From the image it can be seen, that the Juncker mark was the first stamp that was overstamped by the IMME mark.

If anyone is interested, I will takes close-ups of the makermark. It might take a day or two, but definately by the weekend.
