    B&NL pilot badges

We went through different opinion on a B&NL pilot badge http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...5&pagenumber=1 and that drove me to consider that, in fact we have few info on B&NL pilot badges.
So, please, if you have such a badge, post pics here or send them to fsaez@noos.fr and feel free to ask questions

First will be what I consider a typical B&NL pilot badge with the (typical for me) circle around the maker mark

Francois, is the ring around the maker's mark something specific to pilot's badges? I've not noticed it on other B&N/L badges.

I also have never seen a circle around the "B&NL" mark. However, I have also seen a few authentic Assmann badges with the circle around the "A".

I do not think it is part of the mark, rather it is the perimeter of the stamp that makes an imprint when the stamp is pressed in very deep. It is caused by a small ridge around the base of the stamp where the letters sit. Just my opinion.

Francois' badge is 100% correct, but I think that is why there is a circle around the letters.

                            Hi,

As requested, here are some images of my example - I think I have some larger ones somewhere but I have used this one as it is above a cast repro. Unfortunately I don't have larger images of the repro with me.

François, for the the circle around the maker mark on your badge is very ATYPICAL. I haven't seen it on another B&NL, but, like Lorenzo, I have seen it on an Assmann. I agree with Lorenzo's thoughts on the circle being the outline of the maker's mark punch/stamp.

                            Regards
                            Mike K

                              Thanks for posting

Well, Lorenzo and Mike, one point we don't agree as for me the circle is typical.
