    Help with Honor Goblet Recipient

I am picking up a Luftwaffe Honor Goblet at the SOS and was wondering if anyone can help me out with any details on the recipient (type of unit, awards, etc.) It was awarded to Lieutenant Hans Wintzel Feb 2 1943.
    Thanks Jay Parisi

Can't find anyone with that name as an Honour Goblet winner.

According to the reference I have with me at the moment he was awarded the Ehrenpokal on 15.03.1943.

According to my documentation the Leutnant Hans Witzel from JG 26 was killed in action on the 17th september 1941.

Receiving the honor goblet posthumously in 1943 is perhaps a bit late but why not.

The recipient on the goblet is Hans Witzel 5./JG27 and not Hans-Karl Witzel JG26 who was killed on 17 sept. 1941.

I have some info on his sorties but the last one is dated 26 june 1941.

I can confirm that Hans Witzel received his goblet officially on 15-03-1943 so a bit later then the date on the goblet itself which isn't that abnormal.

                  Questions

First things first I'm defiantly not a luftwaffe guy. So if the question seems silly bare with me please. Where are you guys getting this great information from? Is it a web site, book, personal records you keep? Is there anyway I can get access to this information?

                  Thank you
                  Kenneth

                        Luftwaffe Honour Goblet

I have been searching for ages for any details on Oberfeldwebel Lothar Tiekenhenrich who received his goblet on 3.3.41.

If anyone has any information about this guy will they let me know?

                        Thanks.

                        Stan

                          Stan,

Your man will be hard to find as the Ehrenliste der Deutschen Luftwaffe listing new recipients of the Ehrenpokal did not start until 1.9.1941. The award of the Ehrenpokal actually started 27.2.1940!

I can not find a Tiekenhenrich receiving any higher awards in my lists.

                          Regards,
                          Ian

Chris Goss asked the same question a few years ago on 12 O'clock High and got no reply.
