I was offered a mint one, I mean pristine for $1,500.00.
Is that where these are at know of days? BTW no question on originality of the piece that I speak of.

I would expect one nowadays in good, not great or pristine (pristine Josephine? Hmmm...) to fetch around $1G uncased. Rare as they are, $1500 seems alot for just the badge -
Maybe a mint one with its early case would loosen my wallet for that much, but not a standalone!
