I have to say that I have never heard of an observer badge by B&NL. Of course that doesn't mean they didn't make them...
However, looking at the badge you have posted I would have to say this is not an original piece because the wreath does not look B&NL.

The B&NL wreath to me looks a bit like the Assmann from the front. Same style of leaves on both sides. Hard to explain but once you get to know it, it becomes clear...Comment

I have to agree with Rich. That is definitely not an B&NL piece and I also don't like the looks of the 1st Class Spange. Especially the shape of the eagles head.Best regards,

I agry with Rich and Tony . Isn`t the " 1 " in " 1939 " in both EK 1 and EK 2 clasp wrong . Think the EK 1 clasp looks like my " L21 " that we discuced for 3-4 weeks ago .

Already it sounds like a made-up group...the imperial items orginal and the 3rd R suff bogus... at a guess I'd say the imperial items probably never belonged to this guy either. Just a manufactured grouping to make extra $$$
