    BN&L Observer Badge? Opinions Please!

I'm working on a group, supposedly of a Luftwaffe Major, WW1 observer re-tread. I've already snatched up the cased WW1 Observer Badge, this was offered up too:

    Reverse of badge

Backside of the Observer badge. This looks very good to me, but your opinions would be appreciated!

Sorry for the lousy pictures. Supposedly this is a copy of the original photo, location of original is unknown, at this point.

          The group also includes these:

1939 Repeat Spange for 1914 EK1, EK2. Not a great shot, but they look very good to me.

I have to say that I have never heard of an observer badge by B&NL. Of course that doesn't mean they didn't make them...

However, looking at the badge you have posted I would have to say this is not an original piece because the wreath does not look B&NL.

I post the backs of 2 B&NL badges for your comparison

                  And airgunner.

The B&NL wreath to me looks a bit like the Assmann from the front. Same style of leaves on both sides. Hard to explain but once you get to know it, it becomes clear...

                    Thanks!

It always amazes me the lengths that some folks go. I wonder if he put the whole thing together. The really interesting part is, the WW1 stuff is all legit. Take a peek in the Imperial Forum, under the Imperial Mystery Thread, to see the remainder of this grouping.

I have to agree with Rich. That is definitely not an B&NL piece and I also don't like the looks of the 1st Class Spange. Especially the shape of the eagles head.
                      Best regards,

                      Tony

                        Hi Guys !
I agry with Rich and Tony . Isn`t the " 1 " in " 1939 " in both EK 1 and EK 2 clasp wrong . Think the EK 1 clasp looks like my " L21 " that we discuced for 3-4 weeks ago .

PS ! post pics of front of the FAKE EK 1 Clasp .

Already it sounds like a made-up group...the imperial items orginal and the 3rd R suff bogus... at a guess I'd say the imperial items probably never belonged to this guy either. Just a manufactured grouping to make extra $$$

                          IMO

                            RE: This group

Looks like all the Imperial-era items this fellow has are good, but all the WW2 pieces are bogus!
