It certainly is******180;nt a textbook BSW AG/RO thats for sure.
Both wreath and eagle look more like Imme products to me. The hardware on the reverse is more in keeping with BSW though. Certainly the hinge and hook would fit. The rivets also do not look so bad.
I******180;m not to sure about originality at this moment. There are things I like but also some red flags. I******180;m not so keen on the lack of hand finishing although BSW was******180;nt great on that anyway.
That is one that I would be concerned about. The devil is in the details, and IMHO, the devil is lurking in this one. The catch is ala BSW style, but just lacks the workmanship (shaping) I'd expect. The reverse looks 'soft'. The rivets are domed, not flattened, and the beak isn't hooked. Unless others here are aware of variations, it's not a typical example, as Skip also pointed out.
And others have presented their issues too. I'd wait for a similar badge, if I was you, but one with a 'higher approval rating'.
What happened to that image? I am honored that you used my BSW as a reference, but where did all the black background (that Seba wanted!!!) go? I recognized it as mine when I saw the reverse image with the doghair on the scanner platform.

Hi Tony. In the continuing spirit of "agreement" that is permeating the Forum this Holiday Season...I agree with Skip and Mark.
Compare your badge to this known fake BSW Pilot badge on the left and you will see similarities in material and hinge/pin construction. Note the small crimp in both pins near the hinge. Also see the next posting for a comparison of the marks.
See this comparison of maker marks. The top two marks are from authentic BSW ROG and Pilot Badges. The second two marks of from the fake BSW Pilot badge shown in the previous post, and the mark from your ROG.
Notice how the two lower marks have shorter "stems" and the letters are smaller and are placed closer within the center of the shamrock leaves.
I believe your ROG came from the same maker as the fake Pilot badge.
