Ehrennadel des Tigerverbandes

In 2013 I obtained a nice little grouping of a Kriegsmarine Matrosenobergefreiten who served in the Küstensicherungsverband 5 - Westküste Norwegen.

I would truly appreciate comments on this Ehrennadel des Tigerverbandes - I have no problems with the paperworks and know they are the real deal, but any comments on this Ehrennadel will be highly appreciated

Good topic and one which needs some exploration and discussion. Not many posted in the past for comparison so maybe we can get a reference thread going.

Here's an example like yours, equally mint, that sold on eBay.de in October, 2016 for 154 Euro. The dimensions and weight are given: "Das Abzeichen hat die Maße (ohne Nadel) - Länge 10mm - Breite 7mm - Gewicht ca. 2g"

Here's one previously posted by Dion in 2009 which is strange since it lacks the date "1940" on the obverse, and yet looks like identical construction with the same pin system.

There's another photo from the internet of the same example and grouping posted by Dion previously, without the "1940". This site gives the dimensions as follows:
"Höhe gesamt inkl. Nadel ca. 5,5 cm
H x B des Wappens bzw. des Schildes ca. 9,5 x 8 mm"

The documents are interesting. Do you know anything more about their provenance? Whose signature is on your nice Ehrennadel document? All the other documents posted on the net (mostly bad images) seem to show Hans Bartels' signature.

It seems the flags were hand painted aboard the ship. On the photos below, a number of freshly painted flags is hung up to dry as a sailor is applying the final brush strokes to an almost finished flag:
