French-Made Destroyer Badge? Is it real?

I would sincerely appreciate any opinions as to the authenticity of this badge. Is it French-made wartime production?

If you believe in these (I do) then this is an original one.

I do not belive these were produced during wartime but your destroyer looks like honest example of so called French made badges
          Cheers,

I have a destroyer exactly like the one John shows. I like it. However I'm still on the fence about these so called French badges. Are these really french
made? Who says? Could these have been made on German tooling?

Well, the full discussion is in the other thread, but there has never, over all these years, ever been a link to a German company or even a German recipient. They turned up in France or in veteran bring-back collections from France. The obverse design is different from every German-made badge so it's not a matter of getting master dies from Germany.

They're a unique breed of badge which superficially mimics the German-made badges and packaging.

Also, as discussed in this thread, there is a "French-attributed" metal breast eagle with similar hardware to these badges.

              Best regards,
              ---Norm
