Oh no, photos aren't great but it does indeed look like a good rare silver Japanese badge. You might want to go back...

            Best regards,
            ---Norm

Agree with Norm but depends on the cost. John

Lovely badge IMO,without the engraved lines of longitude and latitude.

Out of curiosity, what is the price on this one ??

                Cheers,Martin.

Always a pleasure to look at, very desirable.

Looks more like pewter then sterling. Nice though.

It would be a nice one to have in my collection but i'm just not willing to pay the price that these awards demand today.I have a tombak example that are supposedly rarer than the sterling examples and i'm content with that.

As we know, these awards were given to the crewmembers of the HK's Thor and Michel that operated out of Japan.

Here is a doc i have for the HK award signed in Yokohama by the Commander of Thor 2,Gunther Gumprich.

                          Cheers,Martin.

                              Thanks Martin.

Well, the price was high 7-10 years ago, not sure they command the same today.

Your tombak is a nice one and I would be very happy with that also.

                              John
