Hi Jayhawker353,

It looks very close to an original but still makes me uneasy. There's a smoothness to the texture and the margins that doesn't seem right and the finish is incorrect. The top hook doesn't look right as well, although would benefit from some more closeups.

I think at best an original that has been sanded down and refinished +/- a replaced top hook, and at worst a good copy. Perhaps sharper straight-on views and some more closeups of the hardware will help.

I am trying to get a judgment on this for a friend who has to liquidate his collection. It is not in my possession, but I will add better photos when I can.

I'm uneasy about this one too Norm.

The cut outs around the swastika and the margins look too clean and the maker mark does not seem correct.I'm not too keen on the overall finish either.

As you suggest,better images might help here ??

It is a fake IMO. First of all, anytime this particular badge has this type of finish, my starting point is caution.

Now the pin and how it fits into the hinge. Not right IMO. Too loose.

Letter are way off, not even close to an original even if sanded/polished.

Yes, a straight on shot of the eagle head would help, but I have seen enough.
