You have a very interesting variant of the wartime S&L Auxiliary Cruiser badge there.
Next, a nice zinc Deumer U-boat. And finally a classic "flatback" Destroyer (with all the usual uncertainties associated with it).
I am so excited to see this variant of the S&L Hilfskreuzer badge.
I thought i had them all but this is the first one i have seen where the catch is soldered in recess on the reverse and not applied to a circular catch plate.
This badge displays the 1st type globe that is typical of wartime production and the folded sheet metal hinge and rivet are also of what i consider to be of wartime production.
As Norm mentioned,a very interesting variant of the S&L badge.I have to agree with his comments, and i think this is a good and unusual variant by this maker.
Any chance of some close up images of the hinge, catch and rivet ??

Hi Martin,
You're getting a bit forgetful like me. We saw one other example of this type which was on the Lüdenscheid sample board from emedals.

I am that, but look at the globe on this one Norm.It looks like a 2nd type postwar example. The large "domed" rivet also looks postwar to me,as does the finish.
The badge in the thread starter is of wartime production IMO and thanks for posting the Fleet badge with same set up.I knew i had seen this set up on other S&L badges, including the Fleet badge, but i have never seen it on the HK before.

Hi Martin,
I should have included the link to the previous discussion. The better photos in the thread show the Type 1 globe.
