The fake document is pretty imaginative. Not only is it signed by Dönitz instead of Raeder, but it's printed with the date of July 20, 1944 -- the same day as the Operation Valkyrie bombing. Busy day.

I wonder if the doc stamp collectors here can take a look at it?

Wish the doc image was better.

Several problems have been identified on the fake document (besides the fact that it shouldn't exist). Aside from the modern font of "Schniewind" and the incorrect Dönitz signature, a rather damning error in the "Brillanten" has been pointed out! It looks like it was mis-spelt, probably as "Brillianten", and then someone cut out the "i" to cover up the error, but you can see that the remaining letters are too far apart to be correct.

Good thing Dönitz thought to blot that out before presenting it to Admiral Schniewind so that he wouldn't notice the blunder, or that could have been embarrassing...

                    Best regards,
                    ---Norm

It's also been pointed out that the case with which the badge was listed looks like the type used for the Spanish Cross in silver.

                      Best regards,

can you tell me more about the "High Seas Fleet Badge with Diamonds" that was sold by Hüsken a few years ago with a document.

You wrote that this one is a fake and what is the Story about ?

Have you a screenshot from the offer from his page with the Price ? I heard he offered the badge for 42000€.

                        Thank you for the help.

                        Best regards

Hi, I have not looked inside here for a while but I can see that Norm has answered your questions already. He confirms and provides mode details about what was said before on this forum that this was cooked up grouping of fake HSF with diamonds badge and fake citation (both never existed as original items) and original SC etui. It was sitting on Hüsken site for years until it was taken out, I personally doubt it was sold. I suppose there are not many collectors ready to spend such insane price of 42000€ for the badge and if the are, they make an adequate research first.

Currently there is another interesting grouping on Hüsken site described as BLOCKADEBRECHER-KRIEGSABZEICHEN DES KORVETTENKAPITÄNS THOMAS BLOOMFIELD with fake Schwerin BR badge for only 7000€ which sounds like real bargain compared to "Schniewind" HSF grouping
                        Cheers,
                        Hubert

Here's another one of these fantasy Fleet badges which was auctioned in 2013 (image attached). So that's three so far, and they seem to have first turned up in auction in 1992 with the two "Schniewind" badges. It's too bad one of these ended up in the Hamburg Maritime Museum (discussed here).

The fake Destroyer badge with diamonds from the same series is discussed here:
