    CA and HSF opinions please

Hello, I've recently bought 2 new badges for my collection, I think they are ok, but I can be wrong, what do you think about them? I also decided to buy the KM eagle which I described few posts below. Thank you in advance for all your comments, best regards Martin

        Hi

Nice FLL badge, stamped maker marked instead of relief, not easy to find.

        Best regards

            Hi Guys,

This same type of CA badge (same finish, same mark) was discussed in a thread from March 2010 here.

I don't think there's a consensus yet on these CA badges? For those who think they're bad, what makes them so? And for those who think they're good, what are reasons?

            Best regards,
            ---Norm

              Hi guys,

I personally would have no problem at all adding that FLL CA to my collection. Hardware is classic FLL, especially the catch which was soldered directly to the badge itself without a baseplate. This is not typical for zinc-based badges, but something of a unique trait of FLL, we can see the same thing on their Para badges, Pilot badges, PABs, etc. Also the sloppy solder is another trademark of FLL.

As for the stamped in maker mark, this too is not a problem IMO. FLL went through a brief period during their production time, where they stamped in their maker marks, something we see on a few other of their combat awards like the GAB & IAB.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

                Hi,
Overall appearenece of this badge is similiar to what I would look for in FLL CAB. Some details raise questions but as Tom says these can be explained. Nevertheless I'd rather stick to accepted standard variants. Here is mine for comparison and I am quite comfortable with it.
                Cheers,
                Hubert
