    Schwerin reverse.

At Rathau on the Aller, the CO of 5th Royal Tanks advanced on foot to take a cautious look into the town before his tanks moved in. He encountered one of his own officers, a huge Welshman named John Gwilliam who later captained his country's rugby team, 'carrying a small German soldier by the scruff of his neck, not unlike a cat with a mouse.' The Colonel said: 'Why not shoot him?' Gwilliam replied in his mighty Welsh voice: 'Oh no, sir. Much too small.'

hi all, this is one of my favorite KM badge (it was difficult to choose between
the high sea or mine sweeper) It is my tombak high sea by Schwerin.

Ummmm....I just voted for the Coastal Arty because... nobody else did.
Hard to pick a favorite with all those beautiful gold gilt wreaths.

                Hello Rob,
Thanks for your response. I think you're right about the Kriegmarine stuff being the least popular with collectors. My problem is that I like the Heer and Luftwaffe Badges every bit as much as the Kriegsmarine Badges. Consequently I am compelled to collect the badges from all three branches of the German Wehrmacht plus medals, medal bars, documents, and armbands. I agree with you that cap tallies are nice looking pieces, even though I have never owned any. They are bound to become more popular as the badges get harder and harder to obtain. The prices of the cap tallies can only go up.
It would probably be a good thing to invest in while the prices are still reasonable. Best regards! Tom Yanacek

Here is my little KM collection. I'm quite happy with it but as you probably know my main focus at the moment are those "tracked" little buggers

I've only got one Kriegsmarine badge:

Still voted for the HSF though...

My favorite badge would have to be the Coastal Artillary Badge. I guess I would be the second vote. Just wish I had one.
                        I once flew in a B-17, B-24, & a B-25. Next, I want to fire an 88 round.

                              Hello David C. and kokstok,

Beautiful High Seas Fleet Badges! Thanks for posting the pictures. That issue packet has to be a hard to come by item. At present the HSF is way out in front on the popularity poll. I figured it would be like that. The Aux. Cruiser is in second place. Maybe some of the other badges will be able to close the gap a little. Time will tell! Hey David, I will try to post that Hipper/Lützow grouping in the near future. I will put it up in the document part of the forum. It consists of an EKII document, and a HSF document.
                              Best regards! Tom yanacek

                                Hey Lorenzo and Eric,

Thanks for voting for the lowly Coastal Artillery Badge. I was thinking that it might not get any votes at all. Glad to see that is not the case. I like these badges too, maybe because I like the L/W and Heer Flak Badges so much. It's all great stuff.
                                Best regards! Tom Yanacek
