    New Unterseeboot Badge

My new, one and only U-Boat badge.

Been shopping for an example for the last few months. Didn't want to spend a fortune, but at the same token wanted an example in decent shape, and an example thats from a known maker and an accepted example.

Was able to buy this one from a fellow collector. A decent shape K&Q example.

A nice honest badge - I have no problems with it!

Evaluate the item, not the story and not the seller's reputation!

It does look like a period K&Q to me. John

This one came from a fellow collector who had obtained this one from Gordon a number of years ago. A nice badge that perfectly meets my needs. He also had a bacqueville but I opted for the KQ. Eventually I need to add an eboat and a blockade breaker. But that will be down the road.

Your decision was the correct one IMO. John

Undoubtedly the better of the two options. Congrats!

What's with the Bacqueville badges? I know thier French made, etc. There seems to be a contingent of collectors who avoid them. What's the reasoning behind the aversion? Are they of poorer overall quality than thier German made counterparts? Sellers prices generally reflect the supply/demand curve on these French pieces. Are there issues with these being heavily copied?

                      The other badge

Actually, the other badge offered was not a B'vill- It was id'd as Funke & Bruninghause (sp?) below. Also from Gordon.

Thanks Steve. I misspoke. You're right. That one had eroniously been identified as a Baqu when in fact it was later identified as you say. It's a nice looking piece
