S-boot
Originally posted by John Robinson View PostThanks to Jody, this is available from the book Fuhrer and Fatherland by Angolia.
I would like to add that the image is from the 1st edition of the book. In the revised edition from the 80's it is replaced with a Schwerin example.
Well they have already been posted posted a 100 times before but here are my examples.

Solid flag Schwerin
Solid flag and swastika owned by member Kokstock. It does not get much better for this badge than in this example. Typical remaining finish on wreath and boat.Last edited by Norm F; 08-11-2013, 10:22 PM.

my S-boat badge with small o
In regards to the S-boat manufacturer ( small o ), here are the pictures of my S-Boat badge I purchased many years ago and have had since the late 60's. Is this a repro mark? Would like your opinions please. My badge is zinc, wash is period gilt & silver w/ gray waves. The picture in the Angolia book is very very close. It appears the pin, not the catch has been replaced. thanks for the help.

Dave,
I see no reason not to believe that your badge is anything but an original S&L with the "o" marked on the reverse. It's the same type as in post #13 but with a variant setup. Extremely nice finish if the finish is original which I think it is from the photos.
John
(Editor's note: Here's another example of the S&L-type S-Boat with a similar hinge but with a narrower center barrel a different catch (previously posted here). The time period of these is unknown, but one has to be aware that S&L products continued to be assembled post-war, and the catch on this example seems quite atypical for S&L's wartime production.)Attached FilesLast edited by Norm F; 08-12-2013, 10:08 PM.
