John,there is a name scratched on to the side of the badge.It is very weak and hard to make out in areas but it looks like the name is Mauersberger.

So am I. I am trying to find out if any examples are out there. I think there was a possible fake L/58 a few years ago, but let see if anyone can shed some light on this one. John

Well, who made this tombak badge then, it is an actual badge given at the Atlantis ceremony by Rogge? The wreath is completely different from any other badges we have posted, so who made this?

This is one of the badges awarded by Rogge on 31 Dec. The crewman related that all of the badges were the same, so I am assuming they were all one maker and type of manufacture.

Yes Peter, and there was never a conclusion to that old thread. So I put L/58 on the list, but I have my doubts at this point. John

i think the badge that Joe posted is a Juncker.The globe,hinge pin and rivet look like that of Juncker.The catch appears to have been replaced.
However,the swastika does appear unusually large.I wonder if they changed their design early in the war??.
Here is the reverse of one of my Juncker badges.
I wonder if Joe has another badge from an Atlantis crewman that was awarded at the same time?

Joe, do you have any other images of this badge. Clear shots of the eagle would certainly help a bit, but I still have a problem with that wreath not matching our Juncker examples.

It is possible that it is an earlier form of Juncker, and the one we see now is the second version since like Martin said, the globe, hinge, and pin seem to match. John

Another zinc Schwerin but different finish, silver plated base to zinc and dark grey/black finish to reverse and globe

Here is my unmarked Cruiser badge. It is extremely heavy tombak (this one is 43.46 grams - my Schwerin tombak is 33.57 grams) and very well made. The catch is the Zimmerman L/52 style.
