Believe this to be as follows:
Order HV36. No 375 dated 30<SUP>th</SUP> April 1936, all civilian personnel working for the army or navy were permitted to wear a distinctive badge on the left lapel of the jacket or coat “to promote the feeling of belonging to the armed forces”.

In my opinion these badges are not worth that much, the rarer ones are the ones in gold which were issued for 25 years service. AAll cilvilians working for the military giot the silver. The ones in gold are around maybe $60. This one I would probably give around $20-30 depending on how much I wanted it.Regards, Rob
