                Thank rhudspith for your answer
I know the back same your pic is the best but i think different made of pin same badges vertical or horizontal.
The color is very different your part is very good.
                You now the different maker?
                What is your opinion?
                Regards

Hi guys ,this is one i have which i beleive is an original also.It is very similar to the one Rob has.Alas, the pin is missing on mine but you can see where a circular plate was soldered that held the pin.The badge is for the 1st U-Flottilla based in Brest.See Angola,Die Kriegsmarine Vol.1,page 315.His badge also shows a vertical pin.Regards,Martin.

                      Hi Alex,

Don't know about yours, I do believe these are faked though. The first step would be to try and establish if the coloured finish is actually enamel rather than coloured plastic.

Original enamel if you look at it very closely through a magnifying glass the surface will have very small pitting and sometimes hairline cracks, the plastic fakes just look smooth and "plastic"
                      Regards, Rob

                        Hello rhudspith and Martin,
Thank you for your interest to my thread.
I think insignas are fakes but i look if the coloured finish is enamel or plastic.
                        Regards.

Hi Rob,i took your advice and looked at my badge through a loupe and the pitting is quite visible. The base metal also appears to be brass, like yours. The base of Alex,s badge looks to be a white metal. Was there more than one maker of these badges?Best wishes,Martin.

                              Hi Martin,

Unfortunately I do not own one of these, the photo posted was from one that was up on ebay some time ago and I was outbid, hence the poor photo of the reverse.

Don't know if there was more than one maker of these, I would not have thought so as i would imagine the numbers involved would not have been that high.

Alex, I think yours could well be a fake but did not want to commit without seeing it in hand.
                              Regards, Rob
