IMO very hard to say in this case by just looking. Quality sure looks OK, but on the other hand it´s not very hard to produce such badges for serious companies.

Hi guys,thisis a copy of a photograph a friend sent me a few years ago.It is an original i beleive he got with a grouping from the widow of an ex u-boat man.Again it has the vertical pin and what appears to be a brass base metal.Sorry,he did not send me a photo of the reverse.Regards,Martin.
