Question for you Bill. Did any of the manufacturers produce a 1st type E-Boat badge with brilliants? I wasn't aware that any did - until I saw a boxed example in a (reputable) London dealers'.

          Thank you Mr Stump

Again thank you that is a nice looking badge. I am looking at one with a nice wreath but no silver left on the boat.
          Thanks
          Jerry

Tony you can rest easy as the answer to your questioin is a big resounding NO. The first Model E-Boat was NEVER made with diamonds except here of late by Christopher Ailsby's contract jeweler and other fakers. Mr. Ailsby calls them "museum clones". I call them what they are and that is FAKES. The "reputable" London dealer is a crook if he is offering this rubbish as original. Here is an example Ailsby had made.

Bill, Just a question. Why would Ailsby have these badges made?

                  WHY?

Why? All I know is that a third party ordered this badge and others, July 20th Wound Badges, including other Kreigsmarine diamond badge awards, for resale and to add to his collection. Monetary gain would have been a big incentive, but I suggest that Mr. Alisby should answer your question as anything I may say would be speculative.

Is Christopher Ailsby's a forum member, if he is he could explain why he did this? , i'am not daft or anything and i know what the score is, making money, but i thought that he is a well known collector.

I could be getting it all mixed up here.

                    lee.
