      Giel,

With the really crappy pics, I'd say it is good. With better picks, I might go the other way, For now, I like it.

        Giel,

I agree with Mark, based on these pics, I am leaning towards good. I would definately ask for some better pics to be sure.

He can't take better pictures, but I always buy there with garantee, so no big deal.

Could someone also tell me the value of it?
          Kind regards,

            Giel,

A marked Schwerin AC badge is tough to find in nice condition. I would guess $750 - $1000, depending who you buy it from.

I would be wary, not so long ago I bought a Schwerin AC from a well known German Auction House. Turned out to be a new and very good copy. I would advise better pics or 100% return rights.

                  Hi,

It looks OK from the very poor quality pics, although I see an excess of silver around the base of the hinge, possibly indicating a repair (which would drop the value quite a bit).

                  Regards

                      Hi Skip,

The makermark on the AC you bought, and the (IMO) correct makermark on Giel's AC are very different.

                      Giel,

I wouldn't commit to any price based on the images you posted here. Mike was concerned about a possible repair. And my estimate was for a 100% original mint piece. We can't tell any of that from the 'blurs' you posted. I believe the badge to be original. That is the extent to which I am sure!

                          Hello Giel!

Here you have one 100% original for comparison. When I was 16 (back in 1990) this was one of the first good medals I got. A friend at school had a friend and his late grandfather (Russian) took part in the liberation of Berlin. And he had “some great stuff” at home. This medal is one of the items I bought, and at that point I had no idea what it was As you can see: Just as detailed as yours, so I hope these pictures will be of some help

                          Best regards

                            Marius,

I'm not so sure that your badge is a Schwerin. What makes you believe it is? Personally, I'd say your example is the unmarked Juncker.

                            Regards,
                            Mark

                              Schwerin Fonts

The naming on Schwerin badges came in two font styles - Times New Roman and Arial. Each particular badge has its own style and on these copy Schwerin Aux Cruisers they got it the wrong way around. They also made copy Coastal Artillery badges with the same error

Arial type font, OK on 2nd Eboat, Blockade, HSF and Minesweeper.

                              ARIAL FONT - SCHWERIN

This is actually from a copy Aux Cruiser but just posted to show font type
